First Look: Secretive Feadship 80m Superyacht Project 1015 Begins Outfitting Phase

New images of the secretive 80m superyacht Project 1015 have been revealed, after the yacht completed a key journey across the IJsselmeer and arrived at the company's Makkum facility for the next phase of construction.

With the Feadship yacht now inside the construction hall in Makkum, work will continue on systems installation, interior fit-out, engineering integration, and completion of the yacht's superstructure ahead of her eventual launch.

A New Stage of Construction Begins

According to Feadship, Project 1015 has now completed her transfer from Amsterdam, where hull construction took place, to the yard's northern facilities in Makkum. Recent photographs show the yacht entering the construction hall, while additional images reveal sections of the upper superstructure already being assembled.

The project features a long, slender hull with a near-vertical bow and a clean, contemporary profile characteristic of many recent Feadship custom builds. Large sections of glazing appear integrated into the design, while the aft deck arrangement suggests space for substantial outdoor guest areas. Early observations also point to a sizeable swimming pool positioned on the main deck aft, although full layout details remain undisclosed.

As is typical with many Feadship commissions, the project continues to be developed under a high level of confidentiality. The motor yacht was reportedly commissioned in 2024 and is being constructed with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Delivery is currently expected in 2028.

Early Design Details Emerge

Although specifications remain limited, the yacht's 80m length places her among the largest projects currently under construction in the Netherlands. The latest photographs highlight the yacht's notably lean proportions, which appear relatively low-volume compared with several recent Feadship launches. The visual emphasis is on length and clean lines rather than expansive superstructure mass, creating a profile that appears both elegant and purposeful.

Inside the construction hall, crews will now focus on the complex outfitting phase. This stage typically includes installation of propulsion systems, electrical infrastructure, technical equipment, interior joinery, glazing, and final structural components before launch preparations can begin.

For custom projects of this scale, outfitting often represents one of the longest and most technically demanding phases of construction.

Progress Across the Netherlands

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Feadship currently has 17 yachts either in build or on order. Among the most advanced is the 101m Destiny (Project 1014), which recently entered North Sea sea trials ahead of delivery and is expected to secure a place among the world's largest yachts in the YachtBuyer YB100.

The yard also launched the 89m Milky Way (Project 828) earlier this month. Designed by Studio De Voogt with interiors by RWD, the yacht features a remarkable 16.7m main-deck swimming pool and is now moving through final commissioning. Meanwhile, the 80m Thalassa (Project 826), designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, was recently photographed navigating Dutch canals as she prepares for sea trials and delivery.

The activity also builds on a fleet of modern Feadship icons. Over the past decade, projects such as the 84m Savannah, the 92m Aquarius, and the 93m Lady S have each introduced distinctive approaches to design, engineering, and onboard living, helping establish the benchmark against which many new custom yachts are measured.

Project 1015 now joins a new generation of major Feadship builds moving steadily toward completion. As outfitting progresses in Makkum, attention will increasingly turn to what remains one of the yard's most closely guarded projects.
