Built by Dutch shipyard Feadship, the custom yacht was designed for long-range cruising, with styling by Studio De Voogt. She features a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and a 16.7-metre main-deck swimming pool, one of the largest ever incorporated into a Feadship project.
An elongated bow creates a distinctive Feadship profile
Milky Way has been designed around a displacement platform with a strong emphasis on exterior space and cruising capability. Studio De Voogt developed the yacht's distinctive profile around an elongated vertical bow that pushes volume further aft, creating additional usable deck areas while maintaining balanced proportions. Long structural deck lines and strong horizontal surfaces reinforce the yacht's purposeful appearance, giving Milky Way a clean and contemporary identity that stands apart from many recent superyacht designs. The project was sold in 2023 and has remained under construction in the Netherlands ever since.
A record-scale pool transforms the main deck experience
At the heart of the motor yacht's exterior arrangement is a remarkable 16.7-metre swimming pool measuring three metres across. Positioned on the main deck, the pool dominates the outdoor living areas and serves as the focal point of the guest experience. Feadship has described the feature as a reflection of the owner's passion for swimming. As pools aboard modern superyachts continue to increase in scale, owner priorities increasingly influence design decisions. The result is a resort-inspired outdoor environment centred around recreation, relaxation and direct access to the water.
RWD interiors balance softness with architectural precision
The interior of the boat has been created by British design studio RWD to complement the yacht's crisp exterior styling. Soft, flowing lines have been used throughout the owner and guest areas to create a cohesive onboard experience, bringing a more fluid character to the yacht's interior spaces. With a substantial 2,623 gross tonnage volume and a generous 13.4-metre beam, Milky Way offers spacious accommodation and expansive social areas suited to extended periods onboard.
