101m Feadship Superyacht Destiny (Project 1014) Enters Sea Trials

New imagery of the 101m superyacht Destiny, aka Project 1014, has been revealed as she enters sea trials in the North Sea, giving the clearest view yet of one of the Dutch yard’s most private and closely followed builds.

The update comes less than two months after her April launch in Makkum and marks another major step toward delivery. Construction on the Feadship project has remained largely out of public view since work began in early 2023, with the yacht only emerging occasionally during outfitting after arriving at the yard's northern facility in late 2024.

Curved Lines and Bronze Details

Exterior styling comes from British studio RWD, continuing a relationship that has shaped several landmark Feadship projects over the years. Project 1014 takes a more restrained direction than some recent launches. A deep navy hull sits beneath a tall white superstructure, while uninterrupted curves, broad overhangs, and carefully managed proportions create a profile that feels understated despite the yacht’s scale.

Subtle bronze detailing runs through the exterior, introducing warmth against the darker hull finish. Large sculptural hull windows and flowing deck lines further soften the yacht’s considerable volume. The overall silhouette draws comparisons with earlier RWD collaborations, including the 96m Sophia (ex faith, and projects such as Tango, all known for balancing size with visual lightness.

With a reported gross tonnage of 3,840GT, Project 1014 features naval architecture by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture, while interiors have been developed jointly by RWD and Paris-based Chahan Design. Interior details remain undisclosed.

Pools, Terraces and Elevated Observation Spaces

Although much of the arrangement remains undisclosed, imagery released during launch and sea trials reveals several major onboard features. A large glass-bottom swimming pool occupies the main deck aft, positioned above a beach club arranged with multiple fold-down terraces opening directly to the water.

Forward, the motor yacht incorporates a helipad integrated into the foredeck, while the uppermost levels introduce a forward-facing Jacuzzi paired with an enclosed observation lounge framed by curved glazing. The combination suggests a layout centered around outdoor living and long sightlines rather than heavily enclosed spaces.

Sea Trials Bring Project 1014 Closer to YB100 Entry

Sea trials mark one of the final stages before delivery, testing propulsion systems, onboard infrastructure, handling, and overall performance in real operating conditions. The milestone follows more than eighteen months of visible build progress, with Project 1014 moving through outfitting in Makkum under the supervision of Feadship’s Sijbrand de Vries and a team of around 450 employees.

Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the 101.2m yacht is reported to have a volume of around 3,840GT, a figure expected to secure her entry into the YachtBuyer YB100 following delivery and place her among the world’s largest yachts by internal volume. North Sea trials now shift the focus toward commissioning and final delivery preparations.

Feadship Advances Several Major Builds

According to the world's largest yacht database, YachtBuyer MarketWatch, Project 1014 enters sea trials during a particularly active period for the Dutch builder. The 83m Project Solent recently arrived in Kaag for outfitting, moving into systems integration and interior installation ahead of an anticipated 2027 delivery. Designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design with interiors from Mark Whiteley Design, the project introduces extensive glazing and a lower, elongated profile centered around visibility and outdoor connection.

Elsewhere, the 80m Thalassa, also known as Project 826, launched earlier this year with a sailing-inspired exterior and the largest beach club yet developed by Feadship. The project introduced a notably lower profile and a two-level waterside arrangement centered around a 165-square-meter beach area.

The yard has also continued its awards momentum following the success of the 119m Breakthrough, which claimed Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards, while expedition yacht Valor secured a class victory in the displacement category.

Project 1014 continues a long tradition of large custom builds from the Dutch yard. Among the most notable are the 83.5m Savannah - the world’s first hybrid propulsion superyacht and a multiple award winner delivered in 2015 - alongside the 92m Aquarius, known for her glass atrium and owner’s deck arrangement, and the 110m Ambassador, one of the yard’s largest completed projects.
