Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement wood hull and superstructure she features a 9m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 493 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in June 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

Aquarius is a 45.8m (150.2ft) Mengi Yay motor yacht with a long, clean profile shaped by strong horizontal glazing and straight deck lines, so the emphasis stays on usable volume and clear sightlines. Built with a wooden hull and superstructure, she stands apart from the steel and aluminium builds common in this size range.

The exterior is defined by continuous dark window bands running along the main and upper decks, set against a white finish, so the design reads as one uninterrupted line from bow to stern. Deck space is spread across three full levels plus an open sundeck, and each area is kept open rather than heavily divided.

Forward, the foredeck is set up as a guest zone with a recessed pool and surrounding sunpads, while the sundeck carries a Jacuzzi, shaded seating and open lounging areas under the hardtop. Aft, the decks step down in wide terraces, which keeps each level usable without overlap.

At the waterline, the beach club opens on three sides, so it forms a direct connection to the sea rather than a closed interior room, while the swim platform extends this space further. Fold-out balconies along the main deck widen the usable beam at anchor, adding more outdoor space without changing the yacht’s core structure.

Interior Design

The interior follows the same logic as the exterior, with an emphasis on light and openness rather than heavy detailing. Large windows along both main and upper decks bring in consistent natural light, which shapes the feel of the main saloon and upper lounge.

The main deck is arranged for day-to-day use, with lounge seating set around the glazing and a separate dining area positioned to stay connected but not exposed. Materials lean toward a contemporary palette, with lighter finishes and clean surfaces, so the spaces feel open rather than enclosed.

Up on the bridge deck, the sky lounge works as a second social area, with a bar, media setup and more relaxed seating. This gives a clear split between formal and informal use, while still keeping both spaces linked through similar materials and lighting.

Across the yacht, the layout focuses on circulation and visibility, so movement between decks and rooms feels direct, and sightlines remain open from most interior spaces.

Accommodation

Aquarius is arranged for up to 12 guests cruising and 10 guests overnight across five cabins. The layout includes four double cabins and one twin, which allows for a mix of guest types without relying on temporary berths.

The master suite sits on the main deck and uses the full beam, so it benefits from the widest part of the hull as well as direct access to natural light through large windows. Two private balconies extend from this space, which add usable outdoor areas without affecting privacy.

Guest cabins are located on the lower deck, where three doubles and one twin complete the arrangement. Each cabin is set up with en suite facilities, so the layout stays consistent across the guest areas.

Crew accommodation is arranged separately for nine crew, which supports the yacht’s operation for charter or extended cruising without affecting guest areas.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,450hp engines, motor yacht Aquarius is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads.
