Conducted in Tuzla Bay, the trials mark a major step forward for VisionF Yachts as the yard prepares to hand over its largest and most technically ambitious project to date. The VisionF 101 is also the world’s first 101-foot multihull built to RINA Commercial Class standards.
Performance targets met during demanding sea trials
The VisionF 101 was tested in Sea State 4 conditions, with 10-knot northeasterly winds and low winter temperatures of 6 degrees Celsius in the air and 10 degrees Celsius at sea. Despite the demanding setup, the yacht exceeded 20 knots during runs, with all onboard systems reported to be operating smoothly throughout.
Trials were carried out under realistic operational loads, with fresh water tanks at 75 percent capacity and black and grey water tanks fully loaded. Based on data gathered during testing, the catamaran demonstrated an estimated range of more than 4,000 nautical miles, reinforcing its positioning as a long-range cruising platform rather than a coastal-only design.
For a yacht of this size and volume, the figures represent a notable step forward in the large power catamaran segment, particularly given the yacht’s commercial-class compliance and interior scale.
A commercial-class foundation for long-range use
At 30.7 meters, the VisionF 101 is the largest and most luxurious yacht built by the yard so far. The aluminum hull and superstructure have been engineered for strength, durability, and efficiency over extended operating periods, while remaining lightweight enough to support higher cruising speeds.
The catamaran is the first 101-foot catamaran to achieve RINA Commercial Class certification, opening the door to commercial operation and charter use in markets where regulatory compliance is critical. A custom carbon fiber hardtop has been fitted to reduce weight high up, improving stability and overall performance without compromising deck usability.
Propulsion is provided by four Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350 units, delivering strong acceleration, precise low-speed control, and the maneuverability expected from an IPS setup on a yacht of this scale.
Interior volume shaped for long stays aboard
The VisionF 101 has been conceived as a high-volume power catamaran with a focus on liveability, long stays onboard, and flexible cruising patterns. Her shallow draft supports access to sheltered bays and anchorages that remain out of reach for many motor yachts in the 30-meter range.
Interior volumes are a central part of the design brief. The main saloon stretches across the full 12.8m beam and spans 103 square meters, creating a single, open social space suited to both private use and entertaining. Large windows and calm, neutral finishes emphasize light and openness rather than decoration.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests across five cabins, with layouts tailored to owner preference as part of the yard’s semi-custom approach. The standout owner’s suite measures approximately 30 square meters and occupies a significant portion of one hull, providing separation and privacy from guest areas. The remaining cabins are distributed across both hulls, maintaining consistency in layout and finish.
Outdoor living at scale
Deck spaces are among the defining features of the VisionF 101. The flybridge of the superyacht alone measures 132 square meters, placing it among the largest in its class. Designed for all-day use, the area includes shaded and open zones, loose furniture, and space for dining and relaxation without crowding.
Forward, the expansive foredeck adds another major social area, while the yacht’s overall deck plan supports a relaxed flow between interior and exterior spaces. Together with the wide-beam saloon, the layout gives the yacht a distinctly residential feel on the water, paired with the stability benefits inherent to a catamaran platform.
Production continues with the VisionF 82
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the yard’s current order book also includes a fourth hull of the VisionF 82, a smaller but technically significant project within the brand’s range. Measuring 24.5m with a 9.9m beam, the VisionF 82 has been developed as a compact, long-range cruising catamaran with a strong focus on efficiency and access.
Unlike many production multihulls in this size bracket, the VisionF 82 is offered with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, positioned closer to automotive-style hybrid operation than solar-led electric concepts. Built in aluminum with a shallow 1.0m draft, the model is designed to reach shallow anchorages while maintaining offshore capability, with a quoted range of up to 4,000 nautical miles.
Accommodation is arranged for up to seven guests across four cabins, reinforcing the yard’s emphasis on usable volume and owner-driven cruising rather than charter-first layouts.
The second VisionF 82 catamaran, Sitara, is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking €5,900,000.
Following the successful completion of sea trials, final works on the VisionF 101 are scheduled to be completed over the next two months. Delivery to the owner is expected shortly after, bringing the project to a close after several years of development and construction.
