55m Amels 180 Superyacht Step One Sold

The 55-metre superyacht Step One has been sold. Delivered in 2012, the award-winning motor yacht features bespoke interiors and long-range cruising capability.

Built as the first hull in the Amels 180 series, Step One was designed by Tim Heywood Design, with interior styling by Laura Sessa Romboli and naval architecture developed by Amels. Constructed with a steel displacement hull and aluminium superstructure, the 672GT superyacht features semi-custom platform with extensive owner customisation.

The interior of the superyacht was created through a close collaboration between Laura Sessa and the owner's wife, resulting in a bright, family-focused environment finished in creams, whites, maple wood and white onyx with contrasting black accents. Large windows flood both the main and upper saloons with natural light, while the extended platform allowed the main saloon to gain approximately 30 percent more floor space than earlier designs. Open-plan social areas, a backlit onyx bar and a white Bechstein grand piano further enhance the yacht's contemporary yet welcoming atmosphere.

The motor yacht's exterior showcases clean lines and sweeping curves with substantial outdoor living spaces. Her standout feature is the expansive 155-square-metre sundeck, which incorporates a 3,000-litre spa pool, sun loungers, an alfresco dining area and a touch-and-go helipad, while the beach club offers direct access to the water and includes an integrated steam room. The design earned industry recognition, including the 2013 Asia Boating Award for Best Worldwide Semi Custom Built Yacht (25m and above).
