52m Custom Feadship Superyacht Ice Bear Listed for Sale with Fast-Track Refit Potential

The 52m superyacht Ice Bear enters the market positioned as a substantial redevelopment project with multiple future pathways.

Delivered in 1988 by Feadship, she was designed inside and out by De Voogt, with interiors by Paola D. Smith & Associates.

Ice Bear’s interior layout centers on durability and functionality, shaped by an original brief that required the yacht to host extensive guest use over prolonged periods. Materials were selected accordingly, with wool carpeting and extensive granite surfaces chosen for longevity, while marble flooring defines the main lobby before transitioning into softer carpeted guest areas.

One of the standout interior spaces on board the yacht for sale is the observation lounge, positioned high within the superstructure and enclosed by full-height wraparound glazing. This area is arranged with leather armchairs, a raised sofa, and a marble-topped bar, creating a space oriented around panoramic views. A sky lounge aft on the bridge deck continues this theme, finished with satin woods and decorative columns, and arranged around a forward-facing U-shaped sofa and entertainment system.

A defining feature is the crow’s nest helm station, positioned high above the superstructure to provide commanding visibility. Below this, the observation lounge connects directly to the boat deck, where a crane supports tender operations. Walkaround side decks enhance movement across the yacht, while a hydraulically operated coachroof conceals a secondary tender storage area.

Her original configuration also includes a sport-fishing cockpit on the main deck aft, fitted with specialist equipment, underlining her dual-purpose heritage as both a cruising yacht and a serious offshore fishing platform. A helipad further extends her operational capability.

Accommodation on board the motor yacht for sale is arranged for up to 10 guests across five cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck and includes a dedicated office space, along with his-and-hers bathrooms featuring bathtubs and a shared shower. Large windows bring in natural light, reinforcing the sense of space. Crew accommodation supports up to 11 personnel across six cabins

Ice Bear is powered by twin Caterpillar 3512TA diesel engines, each producing 1,172hp. This setup delivers a top speed of 15 knots, with a cruising speed of 13 knots and a maximum range of approximately 4,850 nautical miles at 12 knots, supporting transatlantic capability.

Now offered on an “as is, where is” basis, Ice Bear presents a different proposition to typical brokerage listings. According to the broker, she is available with several defined redevelopment routes, ranging from a refit into an expedition yacht or sport-fishing yacht to a more extensive rebuild involving structural changes such as a stern extension. With an estimated 12-month timeline for transformation depending on scope, she offers a faster alternative to a new-build project for buyers prepared to take on a substantial refit.

Ice Bear is on the market with Large Yacht Corporation and is asking €4,950,000.

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Feadship currently has 18 yachts either in build or on order. This includes the 72m superyacht Feadship 719, which was recently seen outside the shipyard for the first time.
