Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.4m beam and a 3.35m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 671 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the sixteenth yacht built on the Amels 180 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in March 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2020.
Exterior Design
Galene's profile follows the yard’s Limited Editions approach, with a long, low stance and smooth transitions between decks rather than sharp steps.
The hull and superstructure are finished in white, with a black boot top marking the waterline. A continuous band of dark glazing runs through the main and upper decks, which lowers the visual height and ties the profile together. Lower down, evenly spaced portholes bring light into the guest cabins.
The bow has a soft flare, which helps with spray deflection while keeping the forward sections clean. Decks run full length, with uncluttered side passages that allow easy movement between fore and aft.
Outdoor spaces focus on flexibility. The main deck saloon opens onto two fold-down balconies, while the owner’s suite has its own private drop-down terrace. These additions widen the usable footprint at anchor and create direct contact with the water.
The bridge deck aft is set up for dining, with space for 12 guests around a teak table, protected by the overhang above and screened with glass panels. Above, the sundeck acts as the main social area. It combines a large jacuzzi, sunpads and a bar within one open plan, with partial wind protection and optional shade.
At the stern, the swim platform and beach club provide direct water access, with space arranged for both relaxation and toy handling.
Interior Design
The interior uses a light, restrained palette with a mix of pale woods, soft fabrics and darker accents. The approach keeps the spaces calm and easy to use over longer periods.
The main saloon is arranged around open seating rather than fixed zones, with large windows on both sides. Fold-down balconies extend the room outward, so the interior and exterior feel connected when open.
On the bridge deck, the sky lounge works as a second living area. It includes deep seating, a media setup and a bar, so the space can shift between quiet use and group entertainment. Sliding glass doors open directly onto the aft dining deck.
Materials stay consistent throughout, with neutral tones and subtle contrast rather than strong colour changes. Furniture is movable in key areas, which allows the layout to adjust depending on how the yacht is used.
Accommodation
Galene accommodates up to 12 guests in five cabins, with crew space for 13.
The owner’s suite sits on the main deck and spans the beam. It includes a super king bed, separate his-and-hers bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and a private fold-down balcony. The balcony adds a direct connection to the sea without affecting privacy inside the suite.
On the lower deck, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins complete the layout. The twin cabins include Pullman berths, so they can adapt to different guest groups. All cabins have en suite bathrooms and follow the same material palette as the main living areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V2000M70) 1,308hp engines, motor yacht Galene is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 114,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Ensuring everyone on board can enjoy the water to the fullest, luxury yacht Galene offers a large beach club connected to a swim platform, with plenty of space for lounging and soaking up the sea views. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
