Due to be delivered in 2029, Essence 82 is a 82m motor yacht for sale built by Italian shipyard ISA Yachts. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Lobanov Design, while ISA Yachts is responsible for her naval architecture.

  • Transparent bottom main deck pool
  • 6,200nm range at 12 knots
  • 144m² beach club
  • Operational touch and go helipad

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.8m beam.

Exterior Design

Essence 82 takes the ISA Large Yacht Collection in a noticeably different direction from the Amarcord 82 and Amarcord 86 announced in the same year. Igor Lobanov Studio replaces their Nuvolari Lenard styling with a cleaner, more restrained profile, built around long horizontal bands of glazing and upper decks that become progressively lighter as they rise. Lobanov has said he wanted the yacht to remain relevant beyond the current design cycle, so much of the character comes from proportion and surface treatment instead of one dramatic styling device.

That restraint becomes more interesting at close range. The superstructure is heavily sculpted around the aft quarters, with curved deck edges and dark recessed glazing giving the individual levels much more depth than the side profile initially suggests. From astern, those decks fan out into a series of broad terraces, each with a different relationship to the water.

The lowest level is a 144m² (1,550ft²) beach club that opens through large terraces on both sides. Immediately above it sits the main deck swimming pool, whose transparent bottom lets daylight into the beach club. It is a neat piece of architecture because the pool does more than occupy the usual aft deck position: it physically and visually connects two separate guest levels.

The aft decks above continue to step inward, with substantial overhangs providing shade without closing the spaces off. Seating areas are distributed across several levels rather than concentrated around one enormous stern lounge, and the images show good visual continuity from the waterline upwards.

Forward, Essence takes a much more operational approach. A large touch and go helipad occupies most of the foredeck, leaving no doubt that aviation has been considered as part of the yacht's working brief rather than simply as an occasional landing area. The scale of that deck also helps explain how ISA has fitted several features more often associated with yachts approaching 90m or 100m into an 82m platform.

Tender storage has been treated with the same seriousness. The garage can take two tenders up to 10m (32.8ft), plus a third around 7m (23ft) for crew use, keeping the principal exterior decks free once everything is stowed.

Interior Design

Igor Lobanov Studio is responsible for the interior as well as the exterior, so the architecture can be treated as one continuous design exercise. Full interior details have not yet been released, but the layout already shows an unusual amount of thought given to movement through the yacht and the relationship between enclosed rooms and the sea.

That is clearest on the upper deck. The owner's accommodation does away with the usual central passage through the middle of the deck, using a side route overlooking the exterior instead. A piece of circulation that would normally disappear into the background gains natural light, views and a stronger connection with the outside.

A guest lift connects the principal decks all the way to the sun deck. On a yacht with guest spaces distributed across several levels, that gives the layout a useful vertical link without forcing every journey through the main staircase.

The design also avoids filling every deck with another variation on the same lounge. Different levels have been assigned distinct uses, which gives the interior a clearer hierarchy and leaves more room for specialist spaces.

Accommodation

Essence 82 offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 suites comprising an owners cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 21 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Twin MTU 16V4000 M63L diesels each produce 2,240kW, approximately 3,004hp, giving Essence a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

At 12 knots, estimated range is around 6,200nm, giving the yacht the endurance for transatlantic passages and extended cruising without frequent refuelling.

Two pairs of fixed stabiliser fins work underway and at anchor. Combined with the operational helipad, substantial tender capacity and accommodation for 21 crew, the technical package supports the same long distance brief suggested by the layout.

Wellness

The bridge deck aft is devoted to wellness, with a gym, sauna, massage room, shower and pool grouped together on one level. Giving the whole aft section a single role creates a much more complete wellness area than scattering individual facilities around the yacht.

The beach club adds another layer to that programme at water level. With 144m² (1,550ft²) inside and terraces opening on both sides, there is room to spread out close to the sea, while the transparent pool overhead brings daylight down into the space.
