Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement to planing GRP hull and a carbon fibre superstructure she features a 8.45m beam and a 2.08m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 349 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the seventh yacht built on the Fast 125 design. She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in April 2019.

Exterior Design

Delivered in 2019 as the seventh hull in Benetti's limited Fast 125 series, Bamboo arrived during one of the most important times in the builder's modern history. While Benetti's Livorno yard was attracting global attention with the launch of three gigayachts over 100 metres, Lana (107m), Luminosity (107.6m) and IJE (108m), its Viareggio facility was refining a very different type of yacht. The Fast 125 series became the proving ground for new construction methods, advanced hull design and indoor-outdoor living concepts that would later influence much of Benetti's semi-custom range.

The Fast 125 became the platform where Benetti tested many of the ideas that would shape later models. Chief among them was the D2P® hull developed by Pierluigi Ausonio. Short for Displacement to Planing, the design allows the yacht to operate efficiently at lower cruising speeds while still reaching around 24 knots when required. At 10 to 12 knots, the hull behaves much like a displacement yacht, extending range to around 1,750 nautical miles. Open the throttles and it transitions onto the plane, delivering a very different character underway.

Stefano Righini's exterior design gives little away about the yacht's internal volume. Long bands of dark glazing stretch across the hull and superstructure, visually lowering the profile and drawing the eye from bow to stern. The sharp wave-piercing bow helps define the yacht's fast-looking stance, while the sweeping upper-deck windows soften the more angular shapes found lower down.

One of the most recognisable details is the covered midships stairway built into the superstructure. Rather than exposing the stairs externally, Righini turned them into a design feature that breaks up the profile and helps link the deck levels without disturbing the yacht's clean lines.

Construction played a major role in the success of the Fast 125. Bamboo combines a GRP hull with a carbon fibre and epoxy superstructure. By 2019 Benetti had refined this approach, cutting weight high above the waterline and lowering the centre of gravity. The result was greater stability and the ability to carry roughly 320 to 349GT of volume without the top-heavy feel often associated with large performance yachts.

The yacht also uses Rolls-Royce Azipull propulsion pods instead of traditional shaft drives. The setup helps reduce vibration, cuts noise levels underway and improves manoeuvrability while freeing up valuable internal space.

The deck arrangement reflects a period when owners increasingly wanted closer contact with the water. A side-opening tender garage keeps the stern free for guests, allowing the beach club and swim platform to function as a true leisure area rather than a working deck. Fold-down balconies connected to the owner's suite create private terraces over the water, while the foredeck provides additional lounging space with sunpads and seating.

Interior Design

The interior was designed by British studio Redman Whiteley Dixon, better known as RWD. Their partnership with Stefano Righini became one of the defining combinations within Benetti's Class range, pairing an aggressive exterior profile with calm, easy-going living spaces inside.

By the time Bamboo was delivered, RWD had refined several interior themes for the Fast 125 series. Many owners chose the popular Air concept, which used pale woods, light fabrics and clean lines to make the most of the yacht's extensive glazing. The approach worked particularly well with Righini's exterior design, as the large windows bring daylight deep into the yacht throughout the day.

The main saloon benefits from wide-open sightlines created by the yacht's structural layout. The hidden stair arrangement removes many of the interruptions found on comparable yachts, allowing the living and dining areas to flow naturally together.

Large windows dominate the main deck and keep the sea in view from almost every seating position. Rather than relying on heavy detailing or dark finishes, the design uses light, space and proportion as its main features. The atmosphere is relaxed and residential, with an emphasis on comfort rather than formality.

Many of the ideas first explored on the Fast 125 later appeared across Benetti's Oasis and B.Now ranges, particularly the focus on brighter interiors, stronger links to the water and a greater sense of openness throughout the yacht.

Accommodation

Bamboo accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins and carries up to seven crew.

The owner's suite sits forward on the main deck and ranks among the yacht's standout features. Fold-down balconies built into the hull sides create private outdoor terraces directly above the water, a feature still uncommon on yachts of this size. The arrangement brings extra light into the cabin while giving the owner a direct connection to the sea.

Four additional guest cabins are located on the lower deck. Together they provide flexible accommodation for family use or charter operation while maintaining generous cabin sizes throughout.

The Fast 125's lightweight construction allowed Benetti to create more usable internal volume than many performance yachts of similar length. As a result, guest spaces feel closer to those found aboard larger displacement yachts than a typical fast cruiser.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 2000M96L) 2,600hp engines, motor yacht Bamboo is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. With her 25,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,750 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Amenities

Ensuring everyone on board can enjoy the water to the fullest, luxury yacht Bamboo offers a large beach club connected to a swim platform, with plenty of space for lounging and soaking up the sea views. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht and an inviting spread of sunpads.
