Zodiac Relaunches Yachtline 4.0 Tender with Refined Design and Updated Engineering

As part of the relaunch of the Zodiac Yachtline series, the yard has introduced the new Yachtline 4.0, a 4-meter RIB conceived as a direct extension of a modern superyacht.

Developed with BERCO Design and equipped with navigation systems from Simrad Marine Electronics, the new Zodiac tender signals a clear step forward in layout, finish, and onboard technology.

Positioned within Zodiac’s established tender portfolio, the Yachtline 4.0 replaces the previous Yachtline 400 with revised proportions, updated engineering, and a sharper design language.

A Console Designed Around the Driver

At the heart of the Yachtline 4.0 is a newly developed ergonomic console. The layout of the boat centers on a wide display interface, integrating Simrad navigation systems for clearer data presentation and straightforward control. The helm position appears deliberately compact yet functional, with clean surfaces and practical handholds suited to short transfers or higher-speed runs.

Seating is arranged around the console, with two seats forward and a double bench aft. The open deck format maintains clear circulation from bow to stern, while molded non-skid surfaces reinforce its intended role as a working tender. Boarding stability - long a focus within the Zodiac Yachtline range - remains central, with carefully shaped steps and balanced tube geometry supporting secure embarkation from a swim platform or dock.

Revised Hull Geometry for Stability and Speed

Beneath the updated styling, the Yachtline 4.0 features a concave hull engineered for stability and responsive handling. Constructed in polyester and fiberglass, the planing hull is paired with a neoprene or Hypalon tube designed for durability in yacht garage environments and extended sun exposure.

With a maximum power rating of 50 HP and a single outboard configuration, the tender is intended to deliver brisk transfers without excessive fuel demand. A 37-liter fuel tank supports extended range for its size, an increase over the 35-liter capacity of the previous Yachtline 400. The revised beam of 1.96 meters also widens the footprint compared to the earlier 1.77-meter specification, contributing to greater deck presence and lateral stability.

Weighing 245 kilograms, the Yachtline 4.0 remains manageable for launch and retrieval while accommodating up to six passengers under CE Category C classification.

Built to Match Modern Yacht Programs

Zodiac has placed noticeable emphasis on finish quality in this iteration. The tube material remains neoprene based, selected for abrasion resistance and long-term durability, while the hull structure uses GRP construction familiar to the segment.

Four curated color harmonies - Greyed, Black, Camel, and Beige - allow owners or shipyards to coordinate the tender with a mothership’s paintwork and exterior upholstery. Rather than relying on generic white-and-grey schemes, the Yachtline 4.0 introduces a more tailored aesthetic aimed at premium superyacht programs.

The deck configuration continues the Yachtline tradition of integrated storage, including an aft locker and dedicated compartments for mooring lines and essential gear. Standard equipment typically includes navigation lighting, a fuel gauge, battery switch, automatic bilge pump, and stainless-steel cleats, aligning the model with practical day-to-day yacht operations.

A Practical Fit for Contemporary Yachts

The Yachtline range has long been designed for easy stowage on swim platforms, flybridges, or within dedicated tender garages. At 4 meters overall length and under 2 meters in beam, the new RIB tender remains compatible with common garage dimensions while delivering seating for six - a key consideration for guest transfers.

Zodiac Nautic

Compared with earlier Yachtline 400 specifications, the new 4.0 introduces incremental but meaningful updates: a slightly larger beam, increased fuel capacity, revised console architecture, and expanded integration of navigation electronics. These refinements point to a tender conceived not simply as auxiliary equipment, but as an extension of the motor yacht’s technical and visual standards.

The Future of the Yachtline Series

The introduction of the Yachtline 4.0 sits within a broader four-model lineup that currently spans from 3.6 to 4.9 meters. The Yachtline 360 remains the entry point at 3.6 meters with a 35-liter fuel tank and GRP planing hull, while the 4.4-meter Yachtline 440 steps up capacity with a 57-liter tank and increased beam.

At the top of the range, the 4.9-meter Yachtline 490 serves as the flagship, carrying 85 liters of fuel and stretching to a 2.05-meter beam. With the 4.0 marking a clear update in console design, beam, fuel capacity, and finish detailing, it signals a refreshed direction for the series. While Zodiac has not confirmed changes to the remaining models, the relaunch of the Yachtline name and the introduction of updated styling and technology suggest that further evolution across the range would be a logical next step.

For now, the 4.0 establishes the template for what the modern Yachtline tender may look like moving forward.
