WATCH: 50m Feadship superyacht Graycliffs spotted preparing for sea trials

The 50m superyacht Graycliffs, also known as Project 717, has been sighted moving through the Dutch canal network as she transitions into the final phase before sea trials, marking a key step toward her scheduled 2026 delivery.

The yacht was photographed during transport from Alphen aan den Rijn toward Boskoop, a familiar route for Feadship yachts heading toward North Sea trials. The move follows her launch late last year from the yard's Aalsmeer facilities, where final outfitting and systems integration have been underway.

Graycliffs is a fully custom project built by Feadship, with naval architecture and exterior design developed in-house by De Voogt Naval Architects. Interior design is by American designer Marty Lowe, who worked closely with the owner to tailor the layout and onboard atmosphere.

Construction began in 2022, with the hull first seen outside the build shed in mid-2024 during its technical launch. Graycliffs was formally launched in November 2025 and has since progressed through commissioning ahead of her upcoming trials program.

At 49.5 meters in length and just under the 500 gross ton threshold at 499 GT, Graycliffs sits at the upper end of Feadship’s sub-50m custom range. She is built with an aluminum displacement hull and superstructure, measuring 8.9 meters in beam with a draft of 2.25 meters.

Open deck planning

Outdoor spaces are arranged with a clear focus on open-air living. The main deck aft is designed as a beach-style social area, anchored by an infinity-edge pool with a glass front. Fold-down bulwarks widen the usable deck area at anchor, creating a broad terrace close to the water with uninterrupted views.

Above, the bridge deck aft supports relaxed entertaining, with space allocated for dining, lounging, and an open-air cinema setup. The sundeck adds a secondary helm position alongside seating and a large dining table sized for up to 14 guests, while the foredeck is kept deliberately calm, fitted with seating and sunpads for quieter use underway or at anchor.

Graycliffs presents a low-profile silhouette defined by clean geometry, a near-vertical bow, and a long sweep of glazing across the superstructure. The profile places visual emphasis on length and balance, with restrained detailing and sharp window lines consistent with recent De Voogt projects.

Light, restrained interiors and a main deck owner’s suite

Inside the motor yacht, the interior follows a light, pared-back approach, using soft tones, stone-colored finishes, and carefully controlled lighting to maintain a relaxed feel throughout the guest spaces. Large windows on the main deck draw in natural light and maintain a close visual connection to the exterior decks.

Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests across five staterooms. The owner’s suite is positioned forward on the main deck and spans the full beam, incorporating a private study, walk-in wardrobe, and separate dressing area. Guest cabins are located on the lower deck, while crew accommodation for eight is positioned aft of the engine room.

Tender storage is handled via a dedicated garage accessed through large hull doors, with capacity for a 6.2-meter tender alongside additional water toys.

Diesel-electric drive developed under Feadship AED

Graycliffs is powered by a diesel-electric propulsion package developed under Feadship’s Advanced Electrical Drive program. The system uses azimuthing thrusters for propulsion and steering, reducing drag while improving maneuverability and onboard comfort.

Power is supplied by John Deere gensets supported by a 100 kWh battery bank that manages hotel loads and supports quieter operation at anchor and low speeds. Performance figures indicate a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. With fuel capacity of 51,100 liters, Graycliffs is expected to deliver a transoceanic range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at cruise.

A Smaller Feadship Graycliffs Currently on the Market

A smaller Feadship yacht sharing the name Graycliffs is currently available for sale, suggesting a potential step-up to the new build by the same experienced owner. Delivered in 2016 and refitted in 2024, the 34m Graycliffs forms part of Feadship’s Lagoon Series, a compact range developed to retain full custom-build standards within tighter length and draft limits.

Designed with a shallow 1.8m draft and a semi-displacement aluminum hull, the yacht for sale was intended for cruising areas with access restrictions, while still providing a full-beam main saloon, generous glazing, and accommodation for eight guests. With a reported cruising range of 3,000 nautical miles, the model prioritized autonomy and comfort over outright size.

The 34m superyacht Graycliffs is listed for sale on YachtBuyer and is currently asking €17,000,000.
