The launch of the Bilgin 170 yacht represents the continued evolution of Bilgin’s proven 52m platform, formerly its 50m series. Built on a semi-custom displacement platform, NB83 has now entered the next phase of completion ahead of delivery.
A Refined 52m Platform Built Below 500 GT
NB83 is built on the Bilgin 170 platform, developed to deliver the scale and amenities typically associated with larger yachts while remaining below the 500 GT threshold. With a gross tonnage of 499 GT, the series offers around 20 percent more usable interior volume than yachts in the 48m range, a key factor in its appeal to owners seeking space without moving into a higher regulatory bracket.
While her profile draws on the established lines seen on earlier Bilgin builds such as Camila, NB83 introduces owner-specific surface finishes and tailored detailing. Earlier, in October 2025, the first Bilgin 170 hull Tamasha was launched, marking the debut of the platform. Together, the series allows a high degree of customization, with Bilgin and its design partners given broad scope to shape each yacht to the owner’s brief while maintaining a consistent technical foundation.
Exterior design and naval architecture are by Unique Yacht Design, whose work on the series centers on efficiency, comfort, and long-range capability. The displacement hull is engineered for steady cruising and reduced fuel consumption, while supporting generous interior layouts and expansive exterior deck spaces.
Design Shaped for Long-Term Use
According to Emrecan Özgün, Founder of Unique Yacht Design, the original aim of the Bilgin 170 series was to offer exterior areas more commonly found on 60m yachts within a compact GT envelope. NB83 continues that approach, with particular emphasis on outdoor living and clear transitions between interior and exterior spaces.
The design prioritizes wide deck circulation and social areas that support both private cruising and extended time onboard. Rather than following short-term styling trends, the focus has been on creating a yacht that remains visually current and functionally relevant over time.
Interior design across the Bilgin 170 series is by Hot Lab, with a focus on functional planning and contemporary detailing. The interiors of the superyacht use soft color palettes, layered materials, and varied textures to create warmth and depth without overwhelming the spaces.
Antalya as a Core Production Hub
The launch also highlights the importance of Bilgin Yachts’ Antalya shipyard, which has become a central hub for the builder’s superyacht activity. More than 90 percent of each motor yacht’s construction is carried out in-house, supporting close coordination between design, engineering, and production teams.
We come from a production background, which allows us to control every stage of the build. If a detail cannot be fully resolved in a digital environment, we solve it on the workshop floor and then transfer that knowledge back into the design and engineering process."

This production-led approach allows technical challenges to be resolved directly on the workshop floor when needed, with solutions fed back into the engineering process. Over successive hulls, this feedback loop has played a key role in refining the Bilgin 170 platform and improving build efficiency.
Owner-Led Refinements Across the Series
As the Bilgin 170 series has matured, several owner-requested features have transitioned into standard elements of the platform. According to Alper Eroğlu, Senior Project Manager at Light Ray Yachts, practical refinements introduced on earlier hulls have proven successful enough to carry forward.
These include forward anchor observation pockets, an oversized gangway more commonly found on much larger yachts, and a dedicated garbage room in the bow, a feature rarely seen on yachts of this size. Each addition is aimed at improving crew workflow, safety, and everyday usability.
NB83 accommodates up to 12 guests, including a bridge-deck owner’s suite that provides privacy and direct access to exterior areas. Outdoor spaces across multiple deck levels are arranged for dining, relaxation, and social use, reinforcing the series’ emphasis on exterior living.
Defining the Bilgin 170 Within the Series
Positioned between Bilgin’s 163 II and 173 models, the Bilgin 170 establishes a clear middle tier within the yard’s steel and aluminum lineup. The 50m Bilgin 163 II sits slightly below, sharing a steel displacement hull and six-cabin layout but favoring a more traditional interior arrangement. At the upper end, the 52.7m Bilgin 173 builds on the same concept with greater internal volume and a stronger emphasis on range and endurance. Together, the three models outline a stepped platform strategy that gives owners distinct options across the 50m segment.
With NB83 now afloat, the yacht will move into final outfitting and testing ahead of delivery. The launch adds another completed hull to Bilgin’s growing portfolio and underlines the continued development of its Antalya production base.
