Revealed during a private launch at the builder’s Gold Coast facility, Hull No.1 was introduced to an international audience of owners and guests from North America, New Zealand, and Australia. The new model will make its official world debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026.
Positioned as a higher-specification evolution of models existing in the Riviera Sport Yacht series, the 5600 Platinum Edition builds on Riviera’s core principles of single-level living, offshore capability, and straightforward operation. The result is a yacht shaped around comfort, practicality, and long-range use rather than visual drama alone.
Single-Level Living With an Interior Focus
The interior is centered on Riviera’s single-level saloon and aft deck arrangement, designed to function as one continuous living area. A stainless-framed sliding glass door and opening awning window connect the two spaces, reinforcing a strong indoor-outdoor relationship.
Inside the saloon, the layout is split between two distinct lounge areas, creating a relaxed flow rather than a single formal seating zone. Large side windows and an overhead sunroof introduce generous natural light, while blinds and a rising television allow the space to transition easily into an evening setting.
Forward in the saloon, the galley is fully equipped for extended cruising. Induction cooking, a combination oven, dishwasher, and a full-height refrigerator are supported by additional fridge or freezer drawers that can be configured to suit owner preference. Opposite, a dedicated drinks and service station incorporates bottle storage, a wine cooler, glassware lockers, and a solid-surface preparation bench, making the space practical for both everyday use and hosting guests.
Aft Deck and Foredeck Designed for Time at Anchor
Exterior living is spread across multiple zones, starting aft with the teak-laid hydraulic swim platform. Lowered into the water, it creates a private bathing area and simplifies access for swimming and watercraft. Folding steps deploy automatically as the platform descends, improving safety and ease of boarding.
Above, the aft deck serves as a primary entertaining space. Full-beam transom seating is paired with an L-shaped dining area that accommodates up to eight guests. An outdoor galley features twin electric grills, an extractor fan, drawer refrigeration, an icemaker, sink, and storage, finished in solid-surface materials. Buyers can choose between a short or extended hardtop, with the latter offering the option of a retractable electric blind between the aft pillars for shade or privacy.
Forward, the foredeck functions as a secondary social zone rather than a simple sunpad. A large U-shaped lounge surrounds a teak-trimmed pedestal table, while the forward sections convert into adjustable sunbeds via hinging backrests. Deep lockers provide storage for fenders and drinks, and waterproof speakers support extended time at anchor. Wide side decks, raised coamings, non-skid surfaces, LED courtesy lighting, and stainless steel handrails support safe movement around the motor yacht.
A Three-Stateroom Layout
Below decks, the 5600 Platinum Edition offers a three-stateroom, two-bathroom layout finished in Riviera’s signature handcrafted timber. The full-beam master suite is positioned amidships and features a queen island berth, cedar-lined wardrobes, extensive storage, a Smart TV, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, and a private ensuite with a teak-seated shower.
The forward VIP cabin mirrors much of the master’s comfort and benefits from direct access to the second bathroom. To port, the guest cabin features electrically convertible twin berths that slide together to form a double, providing flexibility for families or visiting guests.
Performance and Systems for Confident Operation
The helm prioritizes visibility and ease of use, with a curved glass windscreen and a clean console dominated by touchscreen displays. The captain’s chair remains fixed for optimal sightlines, while the companion seat swivels to face the saloon when at anchor.
Power is supplied by twin Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950 engines, each producing 725hp. This setup delivers a strong power-to-weight balance, responsive handling, and efficient cruising, supported by forward-facing, counter-rotating propellers. The full-height engine room is accessed either through a stern door or via a lockable hatch on the aft deck, offering excellent service access.
Where the 5600 Sits in the Riviera Sports Yacht Lineup
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch, the largest yacht database in the world, Riviera’s Sport Yacht range currently spans four Platinum Edition models; the new 5600 lands in the middle as the bridge between the compact 4600 and the larger, more flagship-led 6000 and 6800.
At the entry point, the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is the smallest of the group at 15.31m, with a 30-knot top speed and accommodation for six across three cabins. It is positioned as a weekending and cruising platform, with a planing GRP hull and a layout that still delivers a full-beam master and strong cockpit-saloon connection, but with less overall volume than the 5600. Step up to the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition at 19.3m and the focus shifts toward greater guest capacity and a more expansive on-deck footprint, with up to 10 guests and four cabins.
At the top of the range, the 22.18m Riviera 6800 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition remains the flagship and is the only Sport Yacht model reviewed by YachtBuyer to date, earning a strong 4.5-star score. That places it just below the 5-star threshold required for YachtBuyer’s Hall of Fame, a designation reserved for a small percentage of tested yachts that deliver outstanding results across independent sea trials, design, accommodation, helm layout, on-deck usability, and value under real-world conditions.
The Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition will make its public debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026, followed by its Australasian appearance at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May. The model represents a measured evolution of Riviera’s Sport Yacht line, with changes focused squarely on how owners live aboard and operate the yacht day to day.
