Next Yacht Group Celebrates Dual Launch of Second Maiora 36 Exuma and Third AB 130 Motor Yachts

Italian builder Next Yacht Group has celebrated the launch of two distinctly different yachts from its Viareggio facilities, with the second Maiora 36 Exuma superyacht and motor yacht Casa Bri Mare entering the water ahead of owner deliveries scheduled for summer 2026.

Representing the group's two core brands, the launches highlight contrasting approaches to life on the water. The Maiora 36 Exuma focuses on extended cruising and close contact with the marine environment, while the AB 130 continues the yard's longstanding emphasis on speed and high-performance design.

Despite their different missions, both yachts share several key characteristics, including shallow drafts, waterjet propulsion systems, and layouts designed to maximize outdoor living.

Maiora 36 Exuma: Maiora's Modern Take on Life at Sea

The Maiora 36 Exuma marks the launch of the second unit in a series that has become one of the most significant recent additions to the Maiora lineup. Developed in collaboration with Quartostile and Acube Design, the 36.9m yacht was conceived around a closer relationship with the surrounding environment, with layouts and exterior spaces designed to keep guests connected to the water.

A defining feature is its shallow 1.45m draft, which opens access to bays, harbors, and coastal cruising grounds that can be challenging for yachts of comparable size. Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests across five cabins, supported by quarters for five crew members.

We are pleased to have fully met the needs of both owners, confirming the shipyard's ability to guarantee the highest standards both technically and in production. The team is motivated, united, and ready to tackle the new challenges ahead with determination."

Performance comes from three 2,000hp MAN V12 engines paired with twin MJP steerable waterjets and a central MJP booster. The configuration delivers a reported top speed of 33 knots, while gyroscopic stabilization provides additional comfort both underway and at anchor.

AB 130: The AB Yachts Flagship Delivering 41-Knot Performance

Alongside the Exuma launch, Next Yacht Group also celebrated the third hull of the AB 130, currently the flagship of the AB Yachts range. Measuring 39.65m, the model builds on the brand's performance-focused heritage while introducing larger guest areas and a stronger connection between interior and exterior spaces. Large salon windows maximize natural light, while outdoor living is centered around a spacious sundeck, an open-air cinema, and a dedicated bow lounge.

At water level, retractable side terraces expand the beach area to create additional space for relaxation and watersports. Accommodation on board the motor yacht is provided for up to 12 guests in five cabins, with crew quarters for five.

The AB 130 is powered by three 2,600hp MTU engines connected to twin MJP steerable waterjets and a central booster jet. This setup enables a reported top speed of 41 knots while maintaining the shallow 1.3m draft that has become a hallmark of the AB range. Gyroscopic stabilization and lightweight construction further support comfort and performance underway.

Healthy Backlogs Across Both Brands

The twin launches arrive during a busy period for both brands as Next Yacht Group continues to build out its forward order books. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the world's largest yacht database, AB Yachts currently has six yachts either under construction or on order. The pipeline includes multiple examples of the AB 95S and AB 80 series, underlining continued demand for the builder's high-speed, waterjet-powered models.

Maiora also has six yachts on order or in build across several product lines. Alongside additional units from the 36 Exuma series, the backlog includes projects from the larger Maiora 42 Exuma series and the recently introduced Maiora M30. Together, the order books provide a clear indication that both brands continue to attract buyers looking for different interpretations of modern superyacht ownership, from performance-focused fast cruisers to long-range lifestyle-oriented platforms.
