Currently under build at the South Coast yard, the Nordhavn 80 is now preparing for bottom paint before production moves toward completion. The yacht is scheduled to be shipped to the company's headquarters in Dana Point, California, later this summer, where final commissioning work will take place ahead of delivery.
A Passagemaker With Superyacht Appeal
Measuring 24.6 meters (80ft 8in), the Nordhavn 80 sits between the Nordhavn 76 and the larger Nordhavn 86 and Nordhavn 96 models. Developed for owners seeking greater volume without the need for a large professional crew, the yacht can be operated by an owner alongside a captain or single crew member.
While retaining the seaworthiness and engineering focus that have defined the Nordhavn brand for decades, the N80 introduced a more contemporary approach to styling. Larger hull windows, expansive glazing throughout the superstructure, and full-height sliding doors bring significantly more natural light into the interior, while features such as a flybridge Jacuzzi and barbecue area add amenities more commonly associated with larger superyachts.
Designed Around Owner Choice
The N80 accommodates up to eight guests across four staterooms, with additional space for crew. Owners can choose between a traditional main-deck master suite or an upper-deck owner's cabin positioned behind the bridge in place of the skylounge.
The main deck is centered around a spacious salon, dining area, and galley, while the bridge deck houses the helm station, captain's cabin, and secondary lounge space. Buyers can also personalize the interior of the yacht, either selecting Nordhavn's standard finishes or working with external designers, including Dutch studio Vripack, which has developed Scandinavian-inspired concepts specifically for the model.
Offshore Capability At The Core
Like every Nordhavn, the N80 was designed with long-distance cruising at its core. Twin 375hp John Deere engines power the yacht, while a fuel capacity of 4,670 gallons supports a reported cruising range of approximately 2,700 nautical miles.
With a displacement of more than 127 tonnes, the motor yacht prioritizes efficiency, comfort, and offshore capability over outright performance, remaining true to Nordhavn's passagemaking philosophy.
A Range Built Around Ocean Cruising
The Nordhavn 80 forms part of a broad lineup of long-range cruising yachts. The Nordhavn 41 was developed for couples seeking serious offshore capability, featuring twin-engine redundancy and a range exceeding 2,500 nautical miles. Further up the range, the 19-meter Nordhavn 60 offers greater onboard volume, flexible accommodation arrangements, and approximately 3,000 nautical miles of cruising range, making it a popular choice for extended voyages.
At the top end of the portfolio sits the 37-meter Nordhavn 120. The four-deck flagship accommodates up to 10 guests and seven crew while maintaining the transoceanic capabilities that define the brand. With a reported range of around 6,000 nautical miles and extensive customization opportunities, the N120 demonstrates how Nordhavn's passagemaking approach extends into the superyacht sector.
As the fifth hull progresses toward completion and delivery, the latest update highlights continued activity across a model range built around long-distance exploration and owner-focused cruising.
