A Custom Interpretation of the T52 Platform
While based on Baglietto’s proven T52 platform, the motor yacht distinguishes herself through a series of bespoke modifications developed in close collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski Design, responsible for both the yacht’s exterior styling and interiors.
The award-winning superyacht focuses heavily on outdoor connectivity and adaptable guest spaces, with judges highlighting the yacht’s ability to balance practicality, comfort and modern aesthetics within a sub-500GT platform.
Designed around the owner’s vision of a contemporary yet welcoming onboard environment, the yacht reinterprets several traditional T52 spaces through a more lifestyle-driven lens. The project places strong emphasis on sports, family use and flexible outdoor living, creating a more social and experience-led onboard atmosphere.
Baglietto developed the yacht’s naval architecture in-house, building Awandra around a fast displacement steel hull paired with an aluminium superstructure. Measuring 52m in length with an 8.9m beam and 2.7m draft, the yacht spans three decks with an internal volume of 495GT.
Outdoor Living at the Centre of the Design
One of Awandra’s defining features is her emphasis on open-air living. Large sliding and retractable glass walls blur the boundary between interior and exterior areas, creating uninterrupted sightlines and improving circulation throughout the main social decks.
The aft deck arrangement forms a central focal point of the yacht. A swimming pool with a movable floor allows the space to adapt depending on guest requirements, functioning either as a pool area or additional deck space for entertaining.
Key exterior highlights include:
- Expansive aft social deck with adaptable pool configuration
- Retractable glass walls connecting interior and exterior lounges
- Large exterior entertainment and dining areas
- Adventure room concept replacing the traditional beach club
- Flexible layout prioritising guest interaction and usability
Perhaps the most distinctive element is the yacht’s dedicated adventure room, which replaces the more conventional beach club arrangement seen on many yachts in this size category. Designed to support watersports equipment, excursion preparation and active use of the yacht, the space reflects a growing owner preference for experience-led cruising.
Contemporary Interiors with a Relaxed Atmosphere
Inside, Francesco Paszkowski Design adopted a softer, more understated approach centred on natural textures and carefully balanced materials. Warm woods, muted tones and tactile finishes create a calm, contemporary atmosphere throughout the guest areas.
The interior layout accommodates up to 12 guests across six suites, while accommodation for nine crew ensures efficient service during extended cruising periods.
Rather than overly formal styling, the interiors focus on comfort and versatility, complementing the yacht’s broader emphasis on relaxed onboard living. Large windows throughout the superstructure maximise natural light and strengthen the connection to the surrounding environment.
Performance and Long-Range Capability
Powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M86 engines, Awandra reaches a top speed of 16 knots and cruises comfortably at 11 knots. With fuel capacity of 70,000 litres, the yacht offers a transoceanic range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles.
Baglietto Continues Strong Momentum
The award reinforces Baglietto’s growing presence within the large custom and semi-custom yacht market, particularly in the 50m sector where owner demand increasingly favours flexible layouts and lifestyle-focused design.
The T52 platform has become one of the Italian shipyard’s most recognisable contemporary series, combining fast displacement performance with substantial opportunities for owner customisation.
With Awandra, Baglietto and Francesco Paszkowski Design delivered a project that successfully blends functionality, contemporary styling and highly adaptable living spaces, qualities that ultimately secured her place among the standout winners at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards.
Baglietto Continues Award-Winning Momentum
Awandra’s success formed part of a strong showing for Baglietto at this year’s World Superyacht Awards. Alongside the T52 winner, the 40.6m superyacht Andala also gained recognition for its refined styling, family-focused layout and seamless indoor-outdoor design.
As part of the DOM 133 series, the superyacht was designed by Stefano Vafiadis with interiors by Cassetta Yacht Designers, Andala features large windows, fold-down balconies, two pools and a beach club with direct sea access. Judges praised the yacht’s bright, open-plan living spaces, bespoke interior detailing and practical layout refinements tailored for long-range cruising and onboard comfort.
