The CdM Deep Blue 115 builds on the Deep Blue concept first realized in the 42.6m Acala, adapting its design and long-range capability to a more compact platform.
Signature Deep Blue Lines Reworked at 35m
The exterior lines, developed by Horacio Bozzo, carry forward the key visual cues of the Deep Blue range while adjusting them to suit a 35m platform. Rather than scaling down the original concept directly, the design has been reworked to maintain balance across the yacht’s shorter length.
A defining feature of the explorer yacht is the sharply flared bow, which incorporates the range’s signature “beak” profile. This is created through a subtle separation between the upper structure and the hull, a detail that continues aft toward the upper deck overhang and gives the profile a lighter, more dynamic appearance.
We successfully incorporated all the signature features of the larger yachts in her range. Rather than simply scaling down the lines and volumes, we redesigned them to suit the required dimensions. The result is an exceptionally well-balanced yacht, where each element combines elegance with functionality.”
- Exterior Designer, Horacio Bozzo
Large forward-facing windows on the main deck form a central part of the yacht’s identity. Their mullions appear visually detached from the superstructure, creating a floating effect that shapes both the exterior look and the internal light distribution. At the stern, the cockpit includes a pool, integrated seating, and storage, while a broad swim platform extends usable space at water level. A tender garage is positioned aft with a port-side opening hatch, supporting the superyacht’s expedition brief.
Interiors Built Around Travel and Texture
Interiors by Giorgio M. Cassetta take a different approach from the restrained palette often seen in this size category. Instead, the design draws on the idea of travel, using color, texture, and varied materials to create a more expressive environment.
Organic forms, detailed finishes, and a mix of materials shape the interior spaces, with each area designed to feel distinct while maintaining a consistent overall identity. The result is a layout that moves away from standard mid-size motor yacht conventions, aiming for a more layered and personal atmosphere onboard.
This direction reflects both the owner’s brief and CdM’s approach to full-custom interiors, even within platforms that evolve from established concepts.
Engineered for Extended Cruising
Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines, each producing 533 kW and compliant with IMO Tier III standards, the yacht reaches a top speed of 13.5 knots. At an economic cruising speed of 9 knots, range extends to approximately 5,500 nautical miles, supported by a fuel capacity of 45,000 liters.
With a beam of 7.55 meters and a displacement of 325 tonnes, the platform is designed for stability during extended passages. Gross tonnage is measured at 299 GT, placing the yacht at the upper end of the sub-300 GT category while maintaining manageable operational requirements.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests across five suites, with additional capacity for two further guests if required. Crew quarters accommodate seven across four cabins, supporting long-distance cruising with a full complement onboard.
A New Chapter for the Deep Blue Series
The Deep Blue 115 traces its origins to Acala (now Orixa), the first yacht developed under the Deep Blue concept and delivered around three years ago. Originally conceived as a one-off project, Acala drew strong attention for its distinct profile, long-range capability, and carefully considered onboard experience.
That response led to further client interest, prompting Cantiere delle Marche to develop a refined platform that could carry the same design language into a smaller, more adaptable format. The result is the Deep Blue 115, which retains the defining characteristics of the original while adapting proportions, layout, and technical specification to meet a new owner’s brief.
The project was secured following a meeting with the owners at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival with brokerage support from IYC’s London office and additional technical input from Döhle Yachts during development.
Ongoing Projects Across the CdM Fleet
Recent activity at Cantiere delle Marche points to steady demand across both its semi-custom and fully custom explorer lines. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the yard currently has 14 yachts in build or on order, spanning the Flexplorer, Nauta Air, and Deep Blue ranges.
Two Flexplorer 165 hulls recently arrived in Ancona for outfitting, each developed from the same Hydro Tec platform but configured for entirely different use cases - one centered on sport with a full-size pickleball court and helicopter capability, the other tailored for offshore fishing with upgraded crane capacity and multiple tenders.
