Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.9m beam and a 2.15m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 345 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2026 with the keel laid under the project name 'YN208'. This was the tenth yacht built on the Moonen 122 Martinique design.
Exterior Design
Moon Cane is a 37.4m (122ft 8in) Moonen 122 Martinique, built in steel with exterior design by René van der Velden and naval architecture from Diana Yacht Design. The profile follows the series’ established form, with long horizontal glazing, a clean sheer line, and a balanced superstructure that steps back across the decks.
The bow remains upright and purposeful, while the superstructure carries wide, continuous windows that bring light deep into the interior. The overall shape stays consistent with the Martinique platform, which prioritises efficiency and long-range cruising with a fast-displacement hull.
Outdoor areas are spread across three levels. The aft deck connects directly to the main saloon, set up for dining and lounge use. Above, the bridge deck extends the social space with open views aft. The sun deck includes sheltered dining, a bar, and the option of a whirlpool, along with open lounging areas.
Forward, a Portuguese bridge sofa sits ahead of the wheelhouse and provides a quiet seating area with clear views. At the stern, the swim platform measures around 20m² (215ft²) and incorporates hydraulic Z-lift swim stairs for water access.
Interior Design
The interior by Vripack Yacht Design takes a different direction from earlier Martinique yachts, with a warmer palette built around golden tones, earthy oranges, and light woods. The aim is clear. It leans toward a relaxed West Coast feel, shaped around how many American owners use their yachts.
A key change sits at the main saloon entrance. A walk-up bar is built into what would otherwise be unused space, paired with a wine cooler and fridge. It sits within easy reach of both the saloon and aft deck, so it works for indoor and outdoor service.
The main saloon keeps the series’ wide glazing, but introduces softer forms through repeated arch shapes. These curves run through ceiling details, window lines, and bulkheads, giving the space a more fluid feel.
The dining area retains concealed storage behind integrated cabinetry, while the rest of the layout stays clean and open. Lighting plays a large role. Pop-out ceiling lights replace standard spotlights, and subtle night lighting is integrated throughout.
The skylounge mirrors the same approach with a second bar built into custom cabinetry, along with a large screen and integrated sound system. This space connects directly to the aft deck, which supports larger outdoor dining setups.
A central staircase links all decks and has been widened with smoother lines. It is topped by a suspended hand-blown glass light finished with rose-gold tones, which runs through the stairwell as a vertical feature.
Accommodation
The layout centres on a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, measuring 37m² (398ft²). The suite is accessed via an “infinity” corridor, with windows to one side and a walk-in wardrobe to the other, which keeps movement simple and direct.
The bed is positioned to face aft, improving the view through the glazing and allowing easier circulation around the space. The room uses light ash wood and curved forms to keep the tone soft.
The en suite includes a large shower with an oversized head, twin vanity units, and mirrored storage. Open shelving has been replaced with enclosed cabinetry for a cleaner finish.
Guest accommodation sits on the lower deck with two VIP cabins and two further guest cabins, all with en suite bathrooms. A small guest pantry is also fitted on this level, so guests can access drinks or coffee without entering crew areas.
