Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.2m beam and a 3.9m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,310 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
Construction started in late 2004 with the keel laid under the project name 'Aviva'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in March 2007.
Exterior Design
Batello has the scale and stance of an older-generation 80m (262.5ft) Oceanco, with a high steel hull, pronounced bow and a long run of stepped aft decks. Nuvolari Lenard used a dark navy hull beneath the white superstructure, with a narrow red boot top adding a sharp break at the waterline. At 14.2m (46.6ft) in beam and 2,310GT, she carries a lot of yacht above the water, but the long horizontal glazing and raked superstructure lines keep the profile from becoming too top-heavy.
The stern has become one of Batello's busiest guest areas. The swim platform and beach setup can be expanded with a 15m (49.2ft) FunAir floating sea pool and jet-ski docks, so the yacht can effectively build a much larger watersports base once at anchor. Side boarding keeps the central stern free for swimming, toys and access between the platform and the decks above.
Higher up, the heated pool has a counter-current exercise jet and sits between broad sunpads and a curved lounge. The arrangement gives the pool a second use beyond cooling off, while the surrounding deck still leaves space for people who would rather stay dry. There's also a regulation basketball setup on the bridge deck aft, with FunAir equipment that can turn the space into a fenced sports court.
The upper decks are highly varied. There is alfresco dining, several separate seating areas, the sports deck, a golf driving range setup and large open terraces rather than one repeated lounge on each level. Batello also has a helipad, which adds useful access for an 80m yacht intended to cruise well beyond the usual Mediterranean circuit.
Interior Design
Batello's interior was originally designed by Alberto Pinto and was upgraded during a 2025 refit by FM Architettura. The current interior is much warmer and more traditional than the earlier blue-and-turquoise description suggested, with a great deal of polished timber, pale carpet and cream upholstery running through the principal guest spaces.
The main saloon is broad rather than densely furnished. Low pale sofas and armchairs sit within large areas of clear floor, while warm timber runs around the perimeter and frames the windows. The scale of the room is obvious from the amount of space between the furniture, but the seating is still grouped closely enough for the room to work with a smaller party rather than feeling like a hotel lobby.
A second large saloon higher in the yacht has a more formal feel, with deeper gloss timber, cream seating and a grand piano. Dining is also substantial, and the original arrangement includes a circular table capable of seating up to 20. It gives Batello a genuine large-party dining room rather than asking one of the lounges to double as a dining space.
The material change between the guest areas is quite marked. Some rooms use lighter oak and pale fabrics, while others retain darker gloss woods, mirrored surfaces and stronger contrasts. That variety is part of the yacht's character and also helps break up a 2,310GT interior into rooms with different uses rather than one repeated decorative scheme.
A wheelchair-accessible guest lift runs from the bridge deck to the lower deck and serves the main interior guest spaces, which is particularly useful on a yacht spread across this many levels.
Accommodation
Batello accommodates 12 guests across nine cabins, with room for 26 crew. The number of cabins is unusually high for the guest count, so the layout gives owners flexibility around family, staff or guests without needing every cabin occupied at once.
The owner's suite is full beam and has far more than a conventional bedroom arrangement. It includes its own lounge, office, large dressing areas and a private terrace with two Jacuzzis. The bedroom itself has a wide sweep of windows and a restrained current finish of pale carpet, warm timber and white upholstery.
The owner's bathroom is equally substantial, with a large central bath, separate shower area and extensive storage and vanity space. It is one of the places where the yacht's width really tells, because the bathroom reads as a full room rather than an en suite built around the available corners.
The remaining guest cabins continue the same broad material palette but vary in layout and scale. There are nine cabins in total, while the yacht's 26-crew capacity gives a very high service ratio for 12 overnight guests.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 595 TE70) 16-cylinder 4,860hp engines, motor yacht Batello is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 300,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at 18 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Wellness
Batello has a dedicated wellness area rather than scattering spa functions around spare cabins. The gym is a proper training room with cardio machines, weights and open floor space, and the large windows keep it connected with the sea rather than burying it deep inside the yacht.
A beauty and hair salon and separate massage room sit within the same broader wellness programme. The yacht also carries specialist crew for these services, which is an important practical detail because the facilities can actually be used as intended rather than simply appearing on an amenities list.
The heated pool with exercise jet provides another way to train, while the bridge-deck sports court adds basketball and other ball games. Golf is covered too, with a driving range setup, and the toy inventory extends to a climbing wall and a main-deck-height waterslide.
There is also a medical room, useful on a yacht designed to spend longer periods away from easy shore access.
Tenders
The tender and toy inventory is unusually deep even for an 80m yacht. The headline boat is the 17m (55.8ft) HCB 56 Sueños GIX chase tender Charlie Whiskey, powered by five 600hp Mercury V12 outboards. It handles high-speed transfers away from the mothership and means Batello does not have to dedicate internal garage space to such a large tender.
Onboard craft include an 8.5m (27.9ft) Windy tender, an 8.5m (27.9ft) Novurania catamaran and a 6m (19.7ft) MasterCraft wakeboard boat. The rest of the inventory covers four jet skis, two eFoils, two SeaBobs, two sea scooters, two Tiwal sailing dinghies, kayaks, SUPs, surfboards, wakeboards and water skis.
The floating beach setup is nearly as involved as the toy garage. A 15m (49.2ft) FunAir sea pool can be joined by jet-ski docks, loungers, gazebos, barbecues and dining furniture, while Batello also carries dive equipment with an onboard certified dive instructor. Fishing equipment ranges from light spinning gear to deep-drop and heavy game fishing equipment
