Design & Construction

Designed around a modified v-hull fiberglass hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 5.9m beam and a 1.81m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 92 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the thirty-fourth yacht built on the Azimut 80 Carat design.

Exterior Design

Azure is a 23.98m (78.7ft) Azimut 80 Carat, one of the Italian builder's most successful large flybridge yachts and a model that helped define the fast cruising, high-volume flybridge market in the early 2000s. Designed by Stefano Righini, the yacht combines the long, low stance of a performance yacht with the accommodation and deck space normally associated with larger vessels.

The profile is unmistakably Righini. A sharply raked bow, near-straight sheer line and flowing superstructure create a sleek silhouette that still looks current two decades after launch. Large wraparound saloon windows form a continuous dark band through the superstructure, reducing visual bulk and helping the yacht appear lower and longer than her 24-metre length suggests. The broad stern and substantial beam provide the volume needed for a four-cabin layout while preserving the athletic character that became a hallmark of Azimut's larger models.

Azure was built during the final and most refined years of the 80 Carat's production run, a period when Azimut improved sound insulation and introduced larger hull windows across the range. Her factory hardtop with electric sunroof was a rare option on the model and gives the flybridge a more sheltered feel without adding unnecessary height to the profile.

Deck spaces follow the classic Mediterranean sport-flybridge formula. The foredeck provides a large sunbathing area with clear sightlines ahead, while wide side decks link the bow and cockpit. The aft deck centres around a dining and social area protected by the flybridge overhang, and the hydraulic swim platform extends usable waterside space while also serving as launch and recovery point for the yacht's 4.2m Williams Jet Tender stored within the garage.

The flybridge is arranged as a second social deck. A custom sunpad sits aft, while the hardtop shelters seating, dining space and a wet bar with sink, ice maker and drinks coolers. A davit crane allows handling of additional toys or a personal watercraft, and updated Garmin navigation equipment supplements the upper helm.

Interior Design

Azure's interior has the design thinking that made the Azimut 80 Carat such a commercial success.

A substantial main saloon occupies the heart of the yacht. Large windows flood the room with natural light, while wraparound seating creates several conversation areas rather than a single formal lounge. A television rises from concealed cabinetry when required, allowing the room to function equally well as a cinema space, family lounge or entertaining area.

Forward, the dining area doubles as a casual breakfast space and sits close to the galley. This arrangement works particularly well for owner operation or family cruising, allowing food service to remain efficient without isolating guests from the social areas.

The galley follows a European style layout and includes a full-height refrigerator and freezer, hidden dishwasher, four-burner hob, convection oven, microwave and wine cooler. Sliding partitions allow the space to be either open to the guest areas or closed off when crew are preparing meals.

Azure's 2012-2013 interior refresh retained the original character of the yacht while updating finishes and furnishings. Rather than replacing the underlying architecture, the refit modernised the living spaces and helped keep the yacht competitive within the brokerage market. The result is a warm, practical interior that still reflects the styling language of early-2000s Italian yacht design.

The helm station sits forward and incorporates dual Garmin displays, electronic engine controls, bow and stern thrusters, autopilot systems and stabiliser controls. Excellent visibility and a comprehensive equipment package support both short coastal passages and longer cruising plans.

Accommodation

Azure accommodates up to eight guests across four ensuite cabins and carries up to four crew in separate quarters.

The full-beam owner's suite takes advantage of the yacht's generous beam and forms the standout cabin aboard. A king-size bed sits at the centre of the room, while the ensuite bathroom spans the width of the hull with twin wash basins and a large walk-in shower. Large hull windows bring in natural light and make the suite feel larger than many owner cabins found on yachts of similar length.

Forward in the bow, the VIP cabin features a queen-size berth and private ensuite facilities. The position within the hull gives the cabin good separation from the remaining guest accommodation.

Two twin guest cabins complete the layout. Both include ensuite bathrooms, while one also connects to the day head, creating additional flexibility for guests during the day.

Crew accommodation for 4 is arranged separately to preserve guest privacy. Quarters include a crew mess, twin bunk cabin with ensuite facilities, an additional Pullman berth, laundry equipment and dedicated storage space.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by 1 x MTU (12V 2000M91) 1,500hp engines, motor yacht Azure is capable of reaching a top speed of 31 knots, and comfortably cruises at 26 knots.
