Delivered in 2008, Aya One is a 27.5m open yacht for sale built by Leopard. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Andrea Bacigalupo, while Arno is responsible for her interior design.

Key Features

  • Twin MTU 2,000hp engines
  • Open-plan saloon
  • Hydraulic passerelle
  • Classic Leopard 27 design

Design & Construction

Designed around a modified v-hull GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.05m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 79 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Aya One is a Leopard 27, one of the defining open performance yachts of the late 1990s and 2000s.

At a time when many builders chased ever-larger flybridge yachts, Arno's Leopard range took a different path, focusing on speed, low profiles and outdoor living. The result is a design that still feels fresh today.

Paolo Caliari drew a long, lean silhouette with a sharp bow, low superstructure and sweeping sheer line that runs almost unbroken from bow to stern. The profile sits low over the water and avoids the bulk often associated with yachts of this size. Large curved side windows soften the roofline, while the dark hull and bright superstructure create a strong visual contrast.

The yacht's planing hull was designed for high-speed cruising, and the deep-V form remains one of the Leopard 27's defining traits. Twin MTU 16V engines deliver the performance expected of the model, while rebuilt gearboxes and a Seakeeper stabiliser bring key systems up to modern expectations.

Deck spaces follow the classic Leopard formula. The foredeck is unusually large, with space for sun loungers and relaxation well clear of the main social areas. Aft, the cockpit forms the heart of life on board, with generous seating and direct access to the swim platform. The hydraulic passerelle simplifies boarding, while the broad stern creates easy access to the water.

One of Aya One's strongest features is the connection between the cockpit and saloon. Three folding glass doors allow the two spaces to merge into a single entertaining area, a layout that has become common on modern yachts but was far less common when the Leopard 27 first appeared.

Interior Design

Aya One combines the sporty character of a performance yacht with a more relaxed interior atmosphere than many open yachts of her era. Large side windows draw daylight deep into the saloon, while the low-profile superstructure still provides good headroom throughout the main living areas.

The main saloon is arranged as an open social space with plush seating and wide views across the water. The folding glass doors aft help bring the cockpit into the interior, making the saloon feel larger than the yacht's dimensions might suggest.

Recent updates include new interior upholstery, helping refresh the living spaces while retaining the yacht's original layout. The overall design focuses on comfort and practicality rather than heavy decorative themes, which suits the Leopard's fast-cruising character.

The helm benefits from the Leopard's expansive windscreen design, providing clear sightlines forward and to the sides. This low, wraparound glazing remains one of the model's signature features and contributes significantly to the yacht's distinctive profile.

Accommodation

Aya One accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins and 3 crew, a layout that remains well suited to family cruising and charter use.

The master suite serves as the principal guest space and includes a king-sized bed, private seating area and en suite bathroom. The remaining guest cabins provide accommodation for family and friends, each with its own en suite facilities.

The Leopard 27's wide beam helps create guest cabins that feel larger than many performance yachts of a similar length. Rather than sacrificing accommodation for speed, the design balances both, which helped make the model popular when new and continues to support its appeal today.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M92) 2,185hp engines, motor yacht Aya One is capable of reaching a top speed of 49 knots, and comfortably cruises at 35 knots.
