Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.08m beam and a 1.78m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 187 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fifth yacht built on the FD90 design. Launched in August 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

Aura is a 27.4m (90ft) Horizon FD90 from the Fast Displacement series, a range known for combining high internal volume with long-range cruising efficiency. Designed by Cor D. Rover, the yacht is built around Horizon's High Performance Piercing Bow, a near-vertical bow form that carries volume further forward while helping the hull move efficiently through varying sea conditions.

The profile is defined by strong horizontal lines, extensive glazing and a high freeboard that gives the yacht a substantial presence on the water. Large black window bands contrast against the white hull and superstructure, visually reducing the yacht's height while drawing attention to the FD90's distinctive shape. The cascading superstructure steps naturally from the enclosed wheelhouse down toward the main deck, creating a balanced appearance despite the yacht's considerable volume.

Outdoor living is spread across multiple deck levels. The aft cockpit provides a sheltered social area with a Hi/Lo table, freestanding seating and a wet bar, while full-height sliding glass doors connect directly to the main saloon. Side deck doors beside the dining area increase ventilation and strengthen the connection between interior and exterior spaces.

The upper deck is arranged around a semi-enclosed skylounge and open aft entertaining area. A Jacuzzi sits aft alongside a bar counter, grill station and outdoor shower, creating a practical space for long days at anchor. Forward, the bow lounge provides another social zone with seating and sunpads beneath an optional awning.

At water level, Aura features a hydraulic swim platform and beach garage. This area serves as tender and toy storage while also creating a waterside lounge once the toys are launched.

Interior Design

Aura's interior uses a contemporary palette centred around water-bleached walnut, dyed Koto wood and herringbone-pattern oak flooring. The combination creates a light and airy atmosphere that complements the FD90's extensive glazing.

The main saloon benefits from Horizon's signature floor-to-ceiling windows, which bring substantial natural light into the living areas. A lounge sits aft with custom seating, a wine cabinet and a nearby dayhead, while the dining area occupies the centre of the main deck beneath a brass and cast crystal pendant light. Backlit stardust-effect mullions introduce subtle detail without overwhelming the clean styling.

Matte black hardware and anti-glare recessed lighting provide contrast against the lighter timber finishes. A privacy screen allows the galley to operate either as an open social space or a more formal service area when entertaining.

The enclosed wheelhouse sits forward on the upper deck with three helm seats and a dayhead. A seating area converts into an additional berth when required. Aft of the helm, the semi-enclosed skylounge functions as a second social hub, with lounge seating, Hi/Lo tables and a bar with fixed stools. Sliding doors allow this space to work as either an indoor retreat or an extension of the exterior deck.

Accommodation

Aura accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins and carries up to four crew.

The owner's suite occupies the forward section of the main deck. Positioned across the yacht's full beam, the cabin includes large hull-side windows, a his-and-hers ensuite bathroom and extensive storage. Mirrored nightstands, quartzite detailing and a reeded quartzite feature wall behind the bed add texture to the otherwise restrained design scheme.

Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck. Four queen-sized VIP cabins provide unusually consistent guest accommodation, with two mirrored staterooms amidships, one additional cabin to port and a fourth cabin in the bow. Each has its own ensuite bathroom.

Crew quarters are positioned aft alongside the beach garage and service areas. 

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (V8-1300) 1,300hp engines, motor yacht Aura is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots.
