Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.33m beam and a 2.39m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 245 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was delivered to her owners in May 2019.
Exterior Design
Ares is a Sunseeker 116 Yacht, a model that blends the builder's sporty DNA with the volume and amenities expected of a modern superyacht. At 35.2m (115.5ft), she has a strong presence on the water, helped by a striking three-tone colour scheme that combines a midnight blue hull, white superstructure and black coachroof.
The profile is unmistakably Sunseeker. A flared bow leads into long bands of dark glazing, while the raised pilothouse creates a stepped silhouette that looks sleek rather than bulky. Angular windows and sharply defined hull lines add character throughout the profile, and the cutaway bulwarks amidships help flood the main saloon with natural light while also reducing visual mass.
The foredeck is one of the yacht's standout exterior spaces. Ahead of the wheelhouse sits a large jacuzzi surrounded by seating, while a higher level incorporates extensive sunpads and additional lounge seating. The arrangement creates a lovely private retreat away from the main entertaining decks and makes excellent use of an area that is often underutilised on yachts of this size.
The flybridge is equally impressive. Protected beneath the yacht's distinctive black arch and hardtop structure, it combines dining, lounging and bar facilities within a single deck. The aft section remains open for sunbathing and relaxation, while the flexible canopy allows guests to choose between shade and open sky depending on the conditions. Elevated above the rest of the yacht, it enjoys excellent views underway and at anchor.
At the stern, the generous aft deck leads down to a large bathing platform that also serves as tender storage when required. Wide side decks and good circulation throughout the exterior make it easy to move between the yacht's various social areas.
Interior Design
The interior follows a contemporary Sunseeker style that remains attractive today. Large windows, bright furnishings and rich timber finishes combine to create spaces that feel open and welcoming without becoming overly minimalist.
The main saloon benefits from floor-to-ceiling glazing that draws plenty of natural light into the interior. Cream and white sofas contrast nicely with dark timber flooring, while carefully placed metallic accents introduce subtle hints of bronze, gold and silver throughout the décor. The lighter furnishings help keep the room feeling bright, while the darker joinery adds warmth and definition.
The ceiling treatment is particularly effective. White ceiling panels are framed by mirrored sections that reflect light around the room and increase the sense of space. Highly polished timber detailing along the walls adds further contrast and gives the interior a more substantial feel than an all-white contemporary scheme. A sauna on board adds an additional wellness element and introduces a slightly different atmosphere, with a cleaner Scandinavian-inspired look compared with the rest of the yacht's interior.
Accommodation
Ares accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins and carries a crew of five.
The owner's suite occupies a prime position on the main deck forward, a feature normally associated with larger yachts. This arrangement provides additional privacy and allows the owner to enjoy excellent views through the forward glazing. The suite combines neutral finishes with subtle metallic accents and benefits from generous storage, a comfortable seating area and a spacious en suite bathroom.
Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck and comprises two double cabins and two twin cabins. The cabins continue the yacht's light and contemporary styling, using neutral tones and textured wall finishes to create a calm and comfortable atmosphere. Large hull windows bring natural light into the guest spaces and help them feel more open than many cabins found on yachts of a similar size.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96L) 2,640hp engines, motor yacht Ares is capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 20,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,250 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
