Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.22m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 196 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Archipelago has the balanced profile of the Moonen 96 series. Designed by René van der Velden with naval architecture by Moonen Yachts and exterior input from Tommaso Spadolini, the yacht combines a steel displacement hull with an aluminium superstructure, so the overall look feels purposeful rather than aggressive. The flared bow, raised pilothouse and long sweeping sheerline give her the stance of a proper long-range cruiser, while the dark window bands soften the visual height of the superstructure.

Large oval and teardrop-shaped glazing sections break up the hull sides and pull natural light deep into the guest spaces. The rounded forms around the bridge deck and aft overhangs also help the yacht feel more modern than many displacement yachts from the same period. Following her 2024 refit, Archipelago received a full repaint and an extended hydraulic swim platform that now creates a much stronger connection with the water.

Deck spaces focus on practical cruising comfort. Forward of the wheelhouse, integrated sunpads create a private lounging area with open views ahead, while the sundeck has been reworked with improved weather protection and a dedicated guest social space. The extended swim platform has also changed the way the aft deck works, freeing the upper deck from tender storage and giving the stern more of a beach club arrangement.

Interior Design

The interior, designed by Alessandra Negrato, combines traditional yacht detailing with a lighter and more relaxed finish than many classic mahogany interiors. Satin timber cabinetry runs throughout the guest areas, balanced by cream carpets, pale wall panels and soft neutral furnishings that keep the spaces bright rather than heavy.

The main saloon has a straightforward and practical layout with lounge seating aft and a separate dining space forward. Large side windows bring in strong natural light, while the clean white overhead panels make the room feel taller and more open. Blue accent chairs and abstract artwork add colour without pushing the interior into anything overly styled or trend-driven.

Elsewhere, the yacht keeps the same restrained approach. Guest cabins use textured fabrics, light wall coverings and warm timber detailing, while the refreshed sundeck introduces a more casual outdoor living area with improved shelter from sun and wind. The overall feel is calm, usable and easy to live with during extended cruising.

Accommodation

Archipelago offers accommodation for up to nine guests across five cabins, with space for up to four crew members.

The owner’s suite sits on the main deck and benefits from the yacht’s wide beam and large side windows. The arrangement gives the cabin more separation from the guest accommodation below, while pale fabrics and warm mahogany detailing keep the space bright and relaxed.

On the lower deck, the remaining accommodation includes a full-beam VIP cabin, two twin cabins and a single guest cabin, allowing for flexible family or mixed guest arrangements. En suite bathrooms accompany the main guest cabins, and the overall layout works well for longer stays onboard without guests feeling tightly packed together.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by 3 x diesel Caterpillar (C18 DI-TTA) 1,015hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Archipelago is capable of reaching a top speed of 13 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 25,800 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean.
