Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement composite hull and an epoxy composite superstructure she features a 26'11" beam and a 7'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 353 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
True North is a 41.5m (136ft) Hargrave Tri-Deck that places volume and liveability at the centre of the design. Her profile is clean and balanced, with a long, gently raked bow, sweeping dark-glass window bands and a substantial beam of 8.2m (27ft) that carries well forward.
The exterior spaces are arranged around entertaining. On the aft deck, a built-in settee wraps around a beautifully crafted African mahogany table with seating for up to 12 guests, creating a very social setting for long lunches or evening dining. Twin staircases lead down to the swim platform, while a spiral staircase connects directly to the skydeck above.
The bridge deck aft provides another excellent gathering space. A teak dining table seats eight beneath the overhang, while a full-beam sunpad stretches across the aft end of the deck. A serving station with Corian worktops, refrigeration and ice-making facilities allows this area to operate independently from the main deck below.
At the top of the yacht, the flybridge is configured as a genuine destination rather than simply an observation deck. Multiple seating groups accommodate up to 12 guests, while a custom six-person hot tub sits alongside sunpads and a barbecue station. The arrangement works particularly well for owners who spend extended periods aboard, as guests can spread out between several distinct social zones.
A Portuguese bridge wraps around the pilothouse, incorporating wing stations and practical storage lockers. Combined with the yacht's raised bulwarks and secure walkaround decks, it gives True North the confidence and practicality expected from a yacht built for serious cruising rather than marina life alone.
Interior Design
One figure appears repeatedly throughout True North's design: 2.2m (7.3ft). That generous headroom runs through all guest levels and has a noticeable effect on how the yacht feels inside. Combined with her 353GT volume, it creates rooms that feel unusually open and spacious for a yacht of this size.
The main saloon uses high-gloss Matore amber-stained woodwork, mahogany cabinetry and Ultrasuede finishes to create a warm, traditional atmosphere. Large windows flood the space with natural light, while a curved stone-topped bar introduces an informal social element without dominating the room. The dining area sits forward beneath a decorative ceiling feature and comfortably accommodates larger groups.
The galley reflects the yacht's long-range cruising brief. Twin Sub-Zero refrigeration units, a Viking six-burner range, Miele appliances and extensive pantry storage support extended periods aboard, while a large central island provides valuable preparation space. This is a galley designed for serious use rather than occasional entertaining.
Up on the bridge deck, the skylounge offers a second main living area. Upholstered wall panels, BCM lighting, a full bar and large television create a comfortable retreat that works equally well for evening gatherings or quieter moments away from the main saloon.
The pilothouse benefits from excellent visibility and features three Stidd helm chairs upholstered in leather. The Portuguese bridge sits directly outside, while the captain's cabin is positioned immediately aft, creating an efficient operational layout for extended cruising.
Accommodation
True North accommodates up to 12 guests across five cabins, with a layout that works particularly well for families.
The owner's suite occupies a prime position on the main deck. Benefiting from the yacht's full beam and 2.2m (7.3ft) headroom, it feels notably spacious and includes a walk-in wardrobe, private seating area, bar fridge and a large en suite bathroom. The bathroom combines a whirlpool tub with a separate frameless shower, while Italian fittings and custom finishes elevate the overall feel.
Three VIP cabins are located on the lower deck, each with queen berths and private en suites finished to the same standard as the owner's accommodation. One of these cabins connects directly to a separate bunk room with two berths and removable guardrails, creating an excellent arrangement for families cruising with younger children. Rather than placing children elsewhere on the yacht, parents can keep them close while retaining privacy.
A further twin guest cabin completes the guest accommodation, bringing total capacity to 12 guests.
Crew accommodation is unusually generous. In addition to the captain's bridge-deck cabin, three further crew cabins and a dedicated crew lounge support up to eight crew members. The crew mess includes its own galley, dining area and lounge space, helping crew remain comfortable during extended passages and longer seasons aboard.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32) 1,825hp engines, motor yacht True North is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 10,500 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
