Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.9m beam and a 3.2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,291 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2018. This was the third yacht built on the 62Steel design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Sanlorenzo's La Spezia yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in July 2023.
Exterior Design
Rose d'Or is built on Sanlorenzo's 62Steel platform, and the layout does something quite interesting with a yacht of this size. At 61.5m (201.8ft) and 1,291GT, she carries serious volume, but the exterior keeps most of that weight low in the hull and lets the upper decks read much lighter.
Officina Italiana Design uses a near-vertical bow, long dark glazing and a fairly low superstructure to stretch the profile. The foredeck is mostly open and carries a touch-and-go helipad, while the owner's private outdoor space sits further aft and is screened by the superstructure. That separation works well. The working end of the yacht stays forward, and the owner's deck keeps its own privacy.
The stern is the part that really changes the way Rose d'Or works. The main deck aft pool sits directly above the beach club, and its glass bottom brings daylight down into the lower-deck space. The pool itself can be covered, turning the area above into extra deck space when it is not being used for swimming.
Below, the beach club opens aft and to both sides. With the fold-down terraces out, it becomes a three-sided waterside space rather than a room hidden behind the transom. That is possible because the tenders are stored amidships, which frees the whole stern for guests.
The side profile gives a few more clues to the layout. Large hull doors break up the lower section where the tender garage sits, while the long horizontal glazing above follows the guest decks and helps hide the sheer amount of volume inside. It is a clean bit of packaging rather than styling for its own sake.
Interior Design
Francesco Paszkowski Design has used dark gloss timber, pale stone, cream upholstery and touches of deep blue throughout, with polished metal used sparingly around lighting, furniture and bathroom fittings. The contrast is quite strong in places, but the rooms still feel calm because the larger surfaces stay fairly light.
The main saloon uses full-height glazing along the sides, so the dark cabinetry and marble do not make the room feel heavy. A large sofa group sits opposite a television set into a dark stone surround, while loose chairs and low tables keep the seating flexible. The dining room has a much more formal feel, with a long polished table, wine storage built into the side cabinetry and direct access aft to the deck outside. That opening is important because it lets the dining space work as part of a larger indoor-outdoor area rather than as a closed room.
There is a fair amount of detail in the joinery. High-gloss timber is paired with ribbed panels, curved corners, inset lighting and stone tops, while the ceilings use recessed panels with warm perimeter lighting rather than relying on rows of downlights. The same treatment continues through the guest areas, which gives Rose d'Or a more tailored feel than a simple neutral scheme would suggest.
The owner's suite is lighter again, with pale wall panels, large windows, a desk facing outboard and direct access onto the private deck. The bedroom opens straight onto the terrace and jacuzzi, so the suite is arranged as a proper private apartment rather than just a large cabin. The bathroom uses heavily veined stone, twin basins and a separate shower, with the same dark timber used around the cabinetry to tie it back into the rest of the yacht.
Guest cabins follow the same broad palette but are not all identical. Some use stronger blue wall panels and upholstery, while others are lighter, with cream leather, pale timber and backlit headboards. Desks, built-in storage and large televisions are worked into the rooms without taking over the space, and the en suites continue the mix of stone, gloss timber and brass-toned fittings.
One of the more unusual interior spaces is at the stern beneath the main deck pool. The beach club has a glazed section in the ceiling formed by the pool above, so swimmers can actually be seen through the water from below.
Accommodation
Rose d'Or offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 14 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Rose d'Or is powered by twin Caterpillar 3512C diesels producing 2,400hp each. Top speed is around 17 knots, with a cruising speed of about 14 knots.
The 62Steel is built on a steel displacement hull with an aluminium superstructure, so the emphasis is on range, comfort and volume rather than outright speed. The supplied material quotes a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles.
A large part of that long-range role comes from how much the yacht can carry. The platform combines substantial fuel capacity, tender storage, large service areas and a 1,291GT interior without pushing the profile into something overly tall.
