Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.9m beam and a 2.85m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the thirteenth yacht built on the 4700 Series design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in June 2017.

Exterior Design

Artisa is a 46.7m (153.2ft) Heesen steel displacement yacht whose profile reflects a key evolution of the Dutch builder's successful 47m series. Omega Architects reshaped the later-generation design with a fuller, more confident silhouette, larger forward windows, a redesigned triangular mast and enclosed rescue tenders, giving the yacht a stronger visual presence than earlier sisterships while improving natural light inside.

The result is a yacht that balances explorer-like substance with modern superyacht styling. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure remain comfortably below the 500GT threshold at 499GT, yet the proportions create the impression of a much larger vessel. Long bands of glazing stretch across the superstructure, while the enlarged forward windows draw daylight deep into the owner's suite and main deck spaces.

Outdoor living plays a major role in the design. Artisa has around 180m² (1,938ft²) of exterior deck space, an unusually generous figure for a yacht of this size. The 85m² (915ft²) sundeck is the focal point, with a forward spa pool surrounded by sunpads, a bar to port, loose loungers and a large seating area aft. It is a lovely space for family use, yet large enough to host sizeable gatherings.

The bow provides another popular social area, with built-in seating positioned to take advantage of the views ahead. From the photographs and owner accounts, this appears to function as a more intimate retreat than the sundeck, particularly when at anchor.

Practicality remains central to the design. The yacht carries a substantial collection of tenders and toys, supported by extensive storage areas and a robust crane system. The wide beam of 8.83m (29ft), low-profile bulwarks and uninterrupted glazing also strengthen the connection between interior spaces and the sea outside.

Artisa's interior does not rely on extravagance but instead on the careful selection of materials and the thoughtful integration of each element to serve its purpose.

Interior Design

Artisa's interior, created by Bannenberg & Rowell, follows a warm contemporary approach that prioritises comfort, light and space over visual excess. The design centres on natural materials, soft tones and carefully controlled contrasts rather than dramatic statement pieces.

Wood panelling throughout the yacht creates warmth, while pale carpets and large windows keep the atmosphere bright. The original design was further personalised by her owners, who simplified some areas by reducing furniture, introducing additional lighting and incorporating colourful artwork collected during their travels. Orange accents appear throughout the yacht, from soft furnishings to decorative details, creating subtle visual continuity.

The main saloon benefits directly from the enlarged glazing introduced during the refreshed generation of the 47m series. Natural light floods the space, highlighting the clean furniture arrangement and creating excellent sightlines through the yacht. Raised ceiling treatments further increase the sense of volume.

One of the most distinctive interior spaces is the skylounge. Circular architectural themes repeat throughout the room, from the curved walls and rounded ceiling details to the circular rug and coffee table below. The effect is calm and relaxed, while a games table allows the room to shift easily from a quiet retreat to a social gathering space.

Accommodation

Artisa accommodates up to 12 guests in five cabins and carries up to 10 crew in five crew cabins.

The full-beam owner's suite occupies a prime position on the main deck. Large windows fill the cabin with daylight, while light grey panelling and a white leather headboard maintain the bright, airy feel found throughout the yacht. The suite benefits from raised ceilings and generous floor space, giving it the feel of a private apartment rather than a conventional yacht cabin.

The accompanying bathroom centres around a freestanding marble bathtub, flanked by twin basins with separate shower and toilet compartments. This arrangement creates a spacious wellness-focused layout while preserving privacy.

Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck and comprises two VIP cabins and two twin cabins with Pullman berths. The Pullman arrangement allows the yacht to sleep 12 guests without sacrificing cabin size or comfort. Large hull windows bring welcome natural light into the guest areas, while the same restrained material palette found elsewhere creates a calm atmosphere.

The Heesen 47m platform was also designed with layout flexibility in mind. Alternative arrangements have included private owner's decks on sisterships, demonstrating the adaptability built into the design.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 1,340hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Artisa is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 60,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 14 knots.
